I discovered AroundMe through my sister in law who lives in Canada and recently is in our country for a vacation. They used the app in Canada to locate different establishments from restaurants to cafe to stores. So me and my wife tried the app and first the app should locate you and then the app is now on it’s very useful mode.

Like the name applies, it lists all the critical services around you — banks, coffee shops, bars, gas stations, hospitals, movie theaters, restaurants and so on. Using geolocation, the app orders each service by its proximity to you — how many yards away — and, like other apps aimed at the traveler, maps out a route from here to there, if requested. It also creates a contact page for every entry, which you can save to your own contacts list.

Typed in National Bookstore and all the store branches to the nearest from my location popped. Really cool! I love this new app, definitely a must!

My brother in the States is shopping for some techie stuff that he needs for his work and since he doesn’t know much about technology, he asked me to go online so he can consult me with some stuff. I am drooling over a Samsung HDTV. I want to have one in the bedroom and until now, my wife totally disagrees of having a television in the bedroom. She has a problem of putting something like that in our room because we have a toddler that we are minimizing the viewing time at home and with us working 8 hours day with him only under the supervision of his nanny, and his nanny loves watching television so it doesn’t help in convincing my wife to buy an HDTV.
